Windows
Please make sure that your camera is working for proctoring during the exam. The settings within the SEB described below are only valid for the currently running session (i.e. only until the SEB is terminated). You have to adjust / check these settings every time.
Adjust camera image on Windows¶
To set the camera image on Windows or to make sure that you are seen, you need to do the following.
-
Click on the proctoring icon at the bottom right of the SEB bar during the functional test (or during the exam).
-
The camera image of the proctoring room opens. If you are alone in the room, you will see yourself, otherwise you will also see other students. Click on "..." (three dots). If you are alone in the proctoring room, it is not possible to access the settings.
-
Select "Choose Virtual Background" to proceed to the settings.
-
Now you will see the audio and video setting options. Select "Video" in the menu on the left. You will now see which camera is being used and which image can be seen.
Deactivate rear camera¶
If your device has several cameras, it is important to turn off the camera on the rear of the device.
-
Click on "Start" / the "Windows icon" and enter "Device Manager" in the search bar.
-
Open the "Device Manager" and look for "System Devices".
-
Click on "System Devices" and search for the cameras (i.e. Microsoft Camera Rear).
Note
If you are unable to locate the camera within the "System Devices" look for Imaging Devices instead and follow the steps below.
-
Disable the camera on the rear of the device by doing a "right-mouse-click" on the respective camera and select "disable".
-
A pop-up will be displayed, asking you whether you are sure to deactivate the camera. Press "Yes".
-
The camera is now displayed as "deactivated".
